Tim Cavagin, Supervising Re-Recording Mixer

Tim joined Twickenham studios in 1996 and quickly gained a reputation as one of the UK’s leading re-recording mixers. He’s worked with numerous directors including Michael Apted, Stephen Frears, Jim Sheridan and Phyllida Lloyd. He won the Goya Sound Award for director Alejandro Amenábar’s film ‘The Others’, and received critical acclaim for the mix on the award winning documentaries ‘Senna’, and  Oscar award winner ‘Amy’ for director Asif Kapadia. This year he has also completed the mix on Stephen Frears’ ‘The Program’.

Craig Irving, Supervising Re-Recording Mixer

Craig began his mixing career with BBC TV, working on a wide range of programmes including ‘The Tenant of Wildfell Hall’ and ‘Silent Witness’ and in 1995 he won a BAFTA award for sound for the TV movie Loved Up’, directed by Peter Cattaneo.

In more recent years Craig has had the opportunity to collaborate with personal heroes such as Richard Eyre, John Landis and Terry Gilliam, and is looking forward to challenge of fully exploring the possibilities offered by Dolby Atmos and 3D sound.  He has recently completed the mix for Sony Classics on ‘The Lady in the Van’.

Adam Méndez, Foley and ADR Recordist

Adam is our specialist recordist for Foley and ADR, and was a member of the Oscar-winning sound team responsible for Foley recording on ‘Gravity’.   He has overseen the major refit of the Twickenham Foley stage and has since created Foley for many projects including ‘Exodus; Gods and Kings’, ‘Woman in Gold’, ‘Poldark’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘The Martian’, and ‘Nice Guys’.

Dafydd Archard, Re-recording Mixer and Sound Mix Technician

Dafydd studied Popular Music and Recording at Salford University before moving to London to work in audio post production. Prior to joining TW1 he worked at Warner Bros. (Formerly De Lane Lea Sound Post Production Ltd.) for 6 years, initially as a studio assistant then graduating to the role of sound mix technician. His mix technician credits include, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt2’, ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’, ‘Dark Shadows’, ‘Frankenweenie’, ‘Captain Phillips’, ‘Philomena’, ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ and ‘Exodus’. His recent mixing credits include,‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, ‘Amy’, ‘The Martian’, ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’, ‘Swallows and Amazons’, ‘Una’ and ‘Denial’.

Max Walsh and William Miller, Sound Mix Technicians

Max began his career as a runner in 2010. His interest and ability made him both popular with staff and clients alike and he quickly grew into his role as Sound Mix Technician. Will joined us after completing his studies at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.  Both Max and Will are responsible for the smooth running of the entire mix process, from ingesting the media into Twickenham’s systems, right through to delivering the final audio and deliverables. Their mix technician credits include, ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’, ‘The Zero Theorem’, ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’, ‘The Program’, ‘Exodus’, ‘Amy’, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, ‘The Lady in the Van and ‘The Martian’.

Sophia Hardman, Sound Assistant

The newest recruit to the department, Sophia has also joined us after completing her studies at the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts.  She is the first point of contact for all sound related issues at the studio.
