Senior Facilities Engineer

Twickenham Studios is home to some of the most well known film and television programming in the world.  The successful candidate will work within the studios engineering department and be responsible for managing the technical systems that are critical to the studios daily operations.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced engineer with a background in IT, Telecoms or security systems.

The Role

Providing technical support to:

  • Extensive IT network infrastructure
  • Virtualised and hardware based servers
  • Client IT equipment and printers within a large number of serviced offices
  • Secure media transfer services including FTP, Aspera, Signiant.
  • Networked Access Control system
  • VoIP Telecoms system
  • Addressable fire alarm systems
  • Monitored intruder alarms
  • IP based CCTV system
  • Automated gates and ANPR.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing and training of junior staff
  • Hardware and cabling installations to professional standards
  • Planning and costing of technical upgrades
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Ensure that cable schedules, inventories and technical drawings are kept up to date.
  • De-commision of redundant equipment

Technical skills required:

  • Ability to manage enterprise level firewalls and IT equipment
  • Experience working with Mac OSX and Windows operating systems at an advanced/admin level
  • Strong understanding of enterprise level wireless authentication methods
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of network based security systems
  • Cable installation and termination to a professional standard
  • Experience with addressable fire alarm systems
  • Excellent practical skills and proficient with power tools
  • Ability to produce detailed technical drawings using MS Visio
  • Able to be flexible with working hours at short notice to accommodate out of hours maintenance.

  • A friendly and confident personality with excellent client-facing communication skills
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure, with a methodical approach to fault finding and the ability to quickly find solutions in order to minimize downtime.
