Offering Oscar winning Sound, Stages and Picture post-production across Film and TV projects for International and US high profile Film Studios as well as Independent Films and all key Streaming platforms.

Primary Purpose:

The Director of Operations and Facilities is primarily responsible for the overall operational activity and development of the studio and post-production sites. The candidate should constantly look to improve organisational processes and work to advance quality, productivity, safety and efficiency of the studio operations and facilities.  They are directly responsible for, but not limited to; site-wide H&S, physical security, compliance, M&E, build projects and site development, physical DR procedures & protocols, procurement & inventory, vendor and contractor relationships and projects.

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced, passionate and self-motivated in relation to all operational systems, services and site running, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver a diverse workload within a challenging workspace. This is a demanding and fast paced position that requires someone who is proactive and positive whilst using good judgement and courage in their decision making. A demonstrated background in facility infrastructure / estate management with a strong understanding of our industry’s workflows and best practice is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the studio is legally compliant in line with government directives and regulations.

  • Leading operational teams, responsible for the professional operation of the facility. This involves in-house and outsourced services (including reactive and planned maintenance and enhancement), and maintaining internal communication with regards inspection reports, progress on works, issues, repairs and recharges.

  • Collating the relevant information for, and the supervision of, all audits with input from the rest of the management team.

  • passionate and displaying a keen interest in industry and facility relevant innovations and advancements in technology and product development.

  • Adept at spotting the potential application to the studios operations and the opportunities to integrate new working practices and technologies into the business development plan.

  • Manage multiple projects across all sites with a range of budgets and schedules, ensuring all developments are delivered to an exceptional standard.

  • dentify and address problems and opportunities for the company and build alliances and partnerships with other organisations and vendors.

  • Responsibile for monitoring the implementation and development of all aspects of the facilities security procedures and systems, including, but not limited to, site access controls and CCTV systems.

  • Ensuring the physical security of the site is maintained and to be the senior management’s contact for all security issues relating to the facility.

  • Collaborate to complete safety and security audits and ensure that remedial, pre-emptive and improvement works to the site are carried out in an appropriate manner.

  • Dealing with any issues that may adversely or otherwise impact the health and safety of staff, vendors and clients.

  • Creation and potential implementation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans across all sites.

  • Manage and nurture internal resources, including the hiring and retention of personnel and freelancers.

  • Build and maintain co-operative working relationships with other management team leaders to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach.

  • Ability to step in and provide 2nd level technical assistance and guidance in difficult, time-critical studio and post-production environments.

  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers and vendors to pledge continuity of services to the facility and its tenants.

  • Enhancing existing systems and procedures to drive efficiencies in the management of services, whilst continually working to improve and identify consolidation opportunities to achieve value for money.

  • Benchmark the success of all preferred vendors through the management of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators in conjunction with the contractual MSAs (Master Service Agreements).


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 10+ years’ experience at management level in a relevant setting (facilities/estate management/media industry), including min 5+ years’ as senior management in a studios environment.

  • Proven knowledge of studio operations, including production and post-production facilities.

  • Perceptive to client requirements and practised in understanding their needs.

  • Established relationships and access to high-quality supporting vendors in the region.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an innate ability to build rapport amongst a range of internal and external contacts.

  • Tolerance for ambiguity in a rapidly evolving environment.

  • Proficient and diplomatic leader, with experience creating and managing efficient teams.

  • Strong organisational skills with the aptitude to oversee multiple projects and developments simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise both personal and team workloads to ensure that tasks are delegated appropriately, and targets met within a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to constructively appraise other senior management and shareholders of project statuses with capability to provide insight and guidance on future endeavours.

  • Clear understanding of benchmarking mechanisms and contractual requirements.

  • Familiarity with all current conditions of service, contracts of employment, health and safety legalities and their impact on staff.

  • Firm understanding of financial and budgetary accountabilities.​
