The studios offer Oscar-winning Sound, Stages, Picture and Post-Production across Film and TV projects, for international and US high-profile film studios as well as independent films and key streaming platforms.

Multimillion pound investments in 2020 and 2021 on the existing site, buildings, infrastructure and technology mean TFS is able to expand and increase its world-class facilities, cutting-edge technology and award-winning talent to all of our clients worldwide.

Primary Purpose

Working closely with the Head of Maintenance and the Head of Facilities, you will make sure that the property/premises are maintained to a high standard and always ensure safe working practises. In addition, this role is responsible for the maintenance, modification and installation of electrical systems at TFS.

You will also be expected to diversify your role such that you will assist with other general maintenance tasks. The role will primarily be based at the Twickenham site but from time to time you may be required to work off site.

Key Responsibilities of the Studio Electrician

  • Monitor completion of tasks ensuring highest standards of work
  • Monitor H&S compliance, such as correct PPE being worn, as per the H&S at Work Act and TFS H&S Policy
  • Ensure that the sites electrical and mechanical equipment are looked after in such a way as to maintain continuous operation and legal compliance
  • Set approved levels of conduct for work methodology within the team
  • Operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems
  • Carry out small installation works and modifications to existing systems
  • Fault finding, ensuring satisfactory fault rectification
  • Undertaking general maintenance tasks and survey inspections including areas at height
  • Audit and review of all stock levels and report to the Head of Maintenance any required orders
  • Ensure all maintenance activities and procedures adhere to applicable health and safety legislation, policies, and best practise guidelines
  • Provide out of hours electrical cover for all TFS clients
  • Provide assistance and direction to contractors employed within the studio


  • Previous proven experience of working within a commercial facilities maintenance department
  • Working knowledge of industrial and commercial, single phase and three phase installations
  • Experience of working within a customer facing environment and providing excellent customer service
  • Technologically proficient with good a working knowledge of Electrical and Automation systems
  • Full working knowledge and adherence to H&S standards
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. comfortable working in cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working on own initiative
  • Work well under pressure
  • Prepared to participate in other non-engineering business related projects
  • A positive and helpful attitude towards Health & Safety, Welfare and safe systems of working
  • Well organised and adapt to change on a day-to-day basis with good problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours
  • Be standards driven and detailed orientated
  • Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must hold a full UK driving license

Education + Qualifications

  • Fully qualified ‘Approved Electrician’ with AM2 and City & Guilds 236-2 or equivalent
  • BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations Accreditation
  • Electricity Supply Regulations Awareness.
    Electricity at Work act awareness
  • JIB/ECS card
  • 2391 inspecting and testing would be advantageous
