Award-winning Virtual Production specialists Quite Brilliant have teamed up with Twickenham Film Studios, in partnership with Samsung, to offer ‘state of the art’ LED Volume facility.

It’s the first of its kind, offering a ‘one stop’ shop which includes stage, screen, cameras, lighting, assets at a price point that now makes cutting-edge LED Volume technology accessible for shoots at both ends of the budget scale.

Specs

  • Technology: Micro LED (Samsung-built) — the only screen of its size in the UK with this technology, with more than 5× better contrast and black levels
  • Back wall: 24 m wide × 4.6 m high
  • Pixel pitch: 2.1 mm 
  • Retractable LED ceiling: Over 100 sq 
  • Wild walls: 2 additional movable walls
  • Stage size: 5,500 sq ft
  • Turntable: Integrated 6 m turntable, DMX-linked to the screens
  • Screen-to-floor: No gap between screen and floor (no extra staging needed)
  • Soundproofing: Fully soundproofed (only LED Volume of its size in the UK with this)
  • Opened: July 2025
  • On-site packages: Camera, grip and lighting

Micro LED technology

It’s the only screen of its size with the new Micro LED technology, so has at least 5× better contrast and black levels than any other LED Volume. Built by Samsung, the back wall measures 24 m wide
by 4.6 m high, with a 2.1 pixel pitch. The retractable LED ceiling measures over 100 sq m and there’s also an additional 2 wild walls, which are movable.

In the short space of time it has been open, it has won a host of awards, including Broadcast Awards Best Innovation and AV Awards Best New Technology.

The stage itself is 5,500 sq ft, with an additional 2,000 sq ft in the adjoining studio that can be added on.

It also has several other features that are unique to our stage, including:

  • An integrated 6 m turntable, DMX-linked to the screens
  • No gap between floor and screen
  • On-site camera, grip, playback and lighting packages
  • Only fully soundproofed LED Volume in the UK

In addition to the large fixed LED Volume, we have a number of smaller, mobile LED options. These are bespoke to meet your needs and can be set up here at Twickenham in one of our smaller spaces or elsewhere — whether it’s on your set or in an entirely separate location.
