TFS sponsors the Ninth Annual AMPS Awards 2022 and is shortlisted for Excellence In Sound for Last Night In Soho

Last Night In Soho is nominated alongside Belfast, Dune, West Side Story and No Time To Die at this year’s 9th Annual AMPS Awards for Excellence In Sound.

Working closely with Focus Features and Working Title Films, the TFS team was very proud to join Lead Mixer Julian Slater, with TFS’s Tim Cavagin and William Miller Co-Mixing on Last Night In Soho, Dan Morgan as Co-Sound Supervisor and Arthur Graley as Sound Editor.

Congratulations to Simon Hayes, Arthur Fenn, Becki Ponting, Oliver Tarney and Paul Massey who worked on No Time To Die – on which the TFS team (Adam Mendez, Oli Ferris, Sophia Harding, alongside Andrea King and Sue Harding) worked with Foley Supervisor Hugo Adams to carry out the Foley.

TFS also carried out Foley on Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast, with Sophia Hardman as Foley Mixer, Oli Ferris and Sue Harding as
Foley Artists and Arthur Graley as Foley Editor. The TFS Sound team also completed the mix in the newly redesigned state-of-the-art Sound Theatre 2 with Mixers Simon Chase and Niv Adiri. Sound Design was by Soundbyte Studios and Supervised by James Mather.

Twickenham Film Studios is also very proud to continue their ongoing support, once again sponsoring the AMPS Awards.

Director of Technology & Engineering Tom Witkowski joins ‘Transforming Audio’ webcast

Tomasz Witkowski, Director of Technology & Engineering at TFS, joins an exclusive online talk at 4.30pm today to talk about how innovation is impacting the way audio is produced.

In this special webcast hosted by The Avid Community Association and The DPP, industry experts will investigate how consumers expect top sound to go with their high-quality pictures and how this impacts the way audio is produced.

Based in London but operating internationally, The DPP is the media industry’s business network aiming at sharing knowledge, solving problems and creating business opportunities for companies from the whole media supply chain. The Avid Customer Association is the world’s most innovative and influential customer-led community of media and entertainment industry professionals.

TFS’s expansion continues with the hire of Head of TV Studios Edward Harvey as part of the new TV Studios launch

Following on from other recent big name appointments, Cara Shappard TFS MD, continues the expansion and growth of the iconic Studios by welcoming Edward Harvey as Head of TV Studios, this is part of the launch of the new TV Studios.

Edward joins with nearly 30 years of experience in the TV industry as an expert in broadcast studio production and management.

He most recently worked with BT Studios to expand their independent client base and create propositions for a wider set of productions. Key name shows included Love Island AftersunLast Leg Paralympicsand I’m A Celeb Daily Drop within a VR space.

Prior to that he worked with Warner Brothers Leavesden to create new ideas to enhance the customer experience, establish new partner relationships and promote the facility.

Edward worked for over 25 years at The London Studios (ITV) with his last role as Head of Studio Management. He worked closely with client productions and the TLS team, applying best production processes to help enhance ideas and deliver entertaining shows whilst being cost conscious. He was also part of the Studio technology team delivering transitions such as SD to HD, Linear to Non Linear editing and 5.1 facilities.

The brand new TV Studio at Twickenham will be designed to deliver dedicated studio space in West London to produce new shiny floor entertainment shows. The TV Studio is an exciting addition that will complement the rich heritage of working on some of the finest independent feature films and television dramas that have been produced on the campus.

The TFS TV Studio also offers important production services and facilities to ensure the smooth running and ease of every show including: on site car parking, 24hr security, production offices and meeting rooms, green rooms, private star entrance, star apartments and dressing rooms, art departments, costume stores, prop stores, hair and make-up, catering and The TFS Terrace bar / cafe.

Testing AR / VR gaming tech this weekend in TFS Studio for IBC Accelerator

We were proud to welcome Noitom aetting up in our TFS Studio 1 for a weekend of tech testing (and Vodaphone Coventry) for IBC #5gtechnology Accelerator.

With friends from Hado UK, Promod Esports, Digital Domain, Vodafone, Telenet, The park, QuarkXR, NetInsight, Huawei, NVIDIA and the superstar Muki Kulhan.

The team trialled a multi-location live XR eSports gaming broadcast using 5G technology.
