Twickenham Film Studios welcomes the latest key hire with Cherri Arpino joining as the new Head of Production.

Twickenham Film Studios continues to add to the world leading team of talent as part of the new era rebrand changes and are thrilled to welcome Cherri Arpino as their new ‘Head of Production’. 

Cherri is highly experienced in Production and Post Production having spent nearly 18 years globally with some of the most well known film studios, creative content creators, and with some of the worlds leading talent from Feature film and TV.

Prior to joining Twickenham Cherri worked Cinelab, Company 3 and Technicolor specialising in Dailies Management, Picture Workflow and DI. 

Cherri’s wide skillset includes producing and managing post production across the feature film, television, commercials and wider entertainment sectors, communicating directly with production, editorial, VFX, directors, cinematographers and studio executives worldwide.

Cherri will form a fundamental part of the business working closely with MD Cara Sheppard, and the Senior Management Team including Director of Technology & Engineering Tom Witkowski and Director of Facilities & Operations Laurence McCormack to nurture all client relationships, new business and sales, as well as ensuring the highest level of experience working with TFS delivering projects across all departments. 

She most recently joins from working on the highly anticipated Jurassic World: Dominion set to launch in 2022. Prior to that Cherri was Head of Production at Cinelab. She also worked for several years at Company 3, as well as being Head of Dailies at Technicolor for nearly 10 years.

Her wide list of creative highlights include working on such Feature Film and TV creds as: Wonder Woman 1984, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Tomb Raider, T2 TrainspottingHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2, TV series Succession and she was even Dailies Manager on Bohemian Rhapsody for which the TFS Sound Team, lead by Re-Recording Mixer Tim Cavagin, won a ‘Best Sound Mixing’ Oscar. 

One of the projects she most enjoyed worked on was Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in which she was based out of Pinewood overseeing the blockbuster feature. It allowed for an integrated, and true close working collaborative way of working across all teams which is key to what we’re already actively implementing at TFS.

Cherri firmly believes in the need to level the playing field between all parties; client, vendor, studio, post and encourages close open working approaches. Her decision to join TFS was very much made around the strong culture and working environment created by MD Cara Sheppard and the new Managing Partners Piers Read and Jeremy Rainbird within the studio.

She joins at such an exciting time for TFS and the team that are being brought together to take the studio to a new level. Cherri will ensure we offer the highest end technical production and post production support, creativity and production approaches across both features and high end episodic content. Through technical and creative innovation and with a collaborative approach to filmmaking; TFS is perfectly positioned for the exciting challenges that the industry will face in 2021 and beyond.

A home for filmmakers, as well as being a centre for latest innovation and technology across all our offerings.

Recently acquired and operated by Time+Space Studios, Twickenham studios is known for being one of Britain’s leading production and post-production facilities. Offering Oscar winning Sound, Stages and Picture post-production across Film and TV projects for International and US high profile Film Studios as well as Independent Films and all key Streaming platforms.

Multimillion pound investments in 2020 and 2021 on the existing site, buildings, infrastructure, and technology mean Twickenham Studios can expand and increase our world class facilities, cutting edge technology and award-winning talent to all our clients worldwide.

Primary Purpose:

The Head of Studios is primarily responsible for all sales, marketing, quotation, prospecting, and negotiation of all Studio and supporting facilities at Twickenham Film Studios. This includes Broadcast/TV Studio/Multicamera as well as traditional single camera sound stages and R&D/virtual production studios. This individual will also manage all account managers, coordinators, and schedulers who alongside the Managing Director are responsible for sales opportunities, management, and coordination of all productions across our site covering Broadcast TV Studios/Multi-camera and Stages including all production support space and ancillary areas.

The ideal candidate would be a well-established and respected member of the production community with a clear understanding of our industry, our clients and the nuances required to attract and support productions to an exceptional standard. It is integral that the Head of Studios fully understands the competitive landscape, industry market trends and generates new client contacts as well as maintaining current key client relationships.

The Head of Studios also oversees the booking and resourcing of all studios services and facilities and managing the booking system and priority etiquette for productions. Another key part of this role is the tracking of opportunities and sales leads and being prompt and proactive about attracting and securing work daily. The Head of Studios should be reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances on a weekly basis and is a key contributor to the operating budget and sales forecasts

The successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive and well organized and able to demonstrate exceptional client service skills. They will define and execute appropriate sales strategies; business development, and sales support programs to maximize sales and profitability across Broadcast and Stages. They will be required prepare and analyse pipeline and lead data, deliver weekly reporting to the Managing Director, providing key business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key experience in managing high profile TV Studio/Broadcast/Multicamera productions and their clients.
  • Attracting new clients, building, and maintaining existing relationships with key production companies, broadcasters and key commissioners and executives.
  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture
  • Gathering relevant information from clients to prepare quotes, talent proposals, facility options and presenting those quotes to clients in a timely fashion.
  • Developing bids and proposals that work within set operational guidelines for profitability and adherence to the operating budget
  • Ability to identify and solve client issues strategically and work with internal teams on behalf of clients to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Work with the Managing Director to define and communicate the business’s KPIs and targets to account managers on a regular basis and subsequently defines data-driven action strategies to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance and maximise company profitability.
  • Ensuring the client database is up to date and accurate
  • Producing accurate weekly studios forecasts and financial projections and reporting variances.
  • Attending industry events and conferences to generate new business leads and acting as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions.
  • Driving the communication of all sales leads and data to the Director of Sales and initiating regular meetings with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying key areas for improvement in the sales process and highlighting valuable emerging markets
  • Ensuring bookings are confirmed with Contracts and Purchase Orders
  • Organising kick off meetings with relevant staff in advance of projects, in line with client needs, schedules, budgets and required equipment.
  • Liaising with our finance dept regarding client billing, and accounts receivable.


  • 5+ years’ experience at a similar level within a studio facility, broadcaster or production company delivering high end content for film and television.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create an immediate rapport with a range of contacts, build relationships and the ability to close deals.
  • Proven track record of development of strong client relationships and sales within the broadcast and production community and a ‘little black book’ of high value broadcast and production clients
  • Proven experience of P&L management and relevant experience of client billing and booking reconciliation.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close and articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Demonstrable experience developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills and capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise both personal and team workloads to ensure that tasks are delegated appropriately, and targets met within a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to problems.
  • Excellent client relation skills and professional profile within the industry
  • Accurately assess staff and client needs and prioritise through diplomatic collaboration

TFS works on Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel in theatres from October 15th

The Last Duel is an upcoming British-American historical drama directed by Ridley Scott and 20th Century Studios.

Based on the book “The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France” by Eric Jager, the screenplay is written by Nicole Holofcener.

TFS continue to nurture internal junior talent promoting Runners Manav Kher to Junior Sound Mix Technician and Ruby Hornsey to Studios Co-Ordinator.

As part of Twickenham Film Studios ongoing commitment to nurturing next generation talent and bringing through in house roles – we are proud to share the latest news that we have promoted two hugely popular Runners Ruby Hornsey and Manav Kher.

Ruby Hornsey joined the TFS team as a Runner back in 2019 and has been a fundamental part of the client service and daily running of the studios ever since. Her recent promotion to TFS Studios Co-Ordinator is such a perfect next step with her positive, can do, friendly, organised approach to everything she does, as well as her close working client relationships. She will be responsible for ensuring studios project bookings and offices coordination run seamlessly working closely with Curtis Grime – as part of further elevating our client experience across all productions. Prior to working at Twickenham Film Studios Ruby worked with such creative production companies as Baby Cow and Merman. Her experience has mostly been working in production offices as a Runner, PA and as an Office Manager. She has also worked on several shoots – in the production department, floor running and art department on both location and in studio set ups including being part of the production team on The Last Leg.

Manav Kher has been a Sound Runner at TFS since 2020 before recently having a very well deserved promotion to TFS Junior Sound Mix Technician. His passion for all things music – composition and sound mixing – has made him an invaluable support to the multi award winning sound team. Manav lives and breathes music and sound so his new role will allow him to further progress his sound mix knowledge and training journey by working closely with the team of Mix Technicians and Re-recording Mixers. Prior to working at Twickenham Film Studios Manav did work experience at 750 and Wave Studios.

Huge congratulations to Ruby and Manav – we look forward to their continued career journey within the campus.
